outdoors.
org) is the oldest conservation and recreation organization in the United States.
The AMC mission is to foster the protection, enjoyment and understanding of the outdoors, with a focus on the mountains, forests, rivers and trails from Washington, DC to Maine.
The AMC encourages the involvement of all people in its mission and activities, through its membership, programs, policies, and procedures.
This is a year-round, non-exempt, hourly position with excellent benefits.
The working schedule is a hybrid model with both remote and work in the Contact Service Center, based in Joe Dodge Lodge at the Pinkham Notch Visitor Center.
The Contact Service Center Coordinator's primary responsibility is to fulfill the needs of AMC's members, guests, and potential participants of our programs.
What you'll be doing:
Provide basic information, and destination details in a courteous and professional manner.
Process requests and communicate on the phone, on-line, and in-person any reservations for AMC huts, lodges, cabins, programs, and the hiker shuttle.
Process memberships online and over the phone Provide accurate and comprehensive trip and safety advice Perform Joe Dodge Lodge front desk duties Assure our members and guests receive outstanding customer service and exceptional experiences with the AMC.
What we are looking for:
Positive & proactive attitude regarding AMC mission, destinations, and programs is required.
Customer service and/or sales experience is required.
Computer literacy, proficiency in MS Word and Excel, and effective typing skills are required.
Excellent communications skills required.
Ability to multi-task Commitment to being a team player within a detail-oriented, fast-paced environment The ability to work alone and stay on track Scheduling flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays is required.
High school diploma or GED is required.
Knowledge of White Mountain National Forest area is preferred.
Experience in an office environment is recommended.
Physical Abilities required:
Work is performed in a standard office setting, using standard office equipment.
Must be able to stand, sit, climb stairs, and lift up to 25 pounds from floor to waist height.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
